Birch Bark is one of the most durable natural products that I am aware of. The Birch Bark will stay fully intact after a Birch Tree has died and rotted away over several years.
Birch Bark is pliable and has high levels of strenght. Native Americans put Birch Bark to the ultimate when they made canoes that carried them and heavy supplies through white water rapids as well as deep lakes and ponds.
We never have nor will we ever strip Birch Bark from a living tree, as this would kill the Birch tree, with exception the tree is destined for harvesting.
